Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, a.k.a. Lewis Carroll, invented a special writing instrument he called "the Nyctograph" in 1891, in frustration at the process of "getting out of bed at 2 a.m. in a winter night, lighting a candle, and recording some happy thought which would probably be otherwise forgotten." This edition is written entirely in the author's unique nighttime alphabet.

About the Author :

Lewis Carroll has contributed to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland: An Edition Printed in the Nyctographic Square Alphabet Devised by Lewis Carroll as an author. Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (1832-1898), better known by his pen name Lewis Carroll, published "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" in 1865 and its sequel, "Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There", in 1871. Considered a master of the genre of literary nonsense, he is renowned for his ingenious wordplay and sense of logic, and his highly original vision.
