I have three other field guides including "Birds of Northern India" by the same authors. This book is better and more easier to use than any of them. Had I bought this book first, I may not have bought the others. Such a good one.
The illustrations and the distribution maps are great. It is great to see the maps just by the side of the names. I recommend this one to all those who like birding.

This book has been printed in India. It is much cheaper than the one from the UK. It is a bit heavy for a field guide and I'm not sure it would take a battering in the field. Have used it twice and the front cover is now creased. However, it has great plates and maps.Excellent as a book to keep at home or in the car.
Alternatively, wrap it in a plastic bag and put in rucksack.
