The Fountainhead Book Description

When The Fountainhead was first published, Ayn Rand's daringly original literary vision and her groundbreaking philosophy, Objectivism, won immediate worldwide interest and acclaim. This instant classic is the story of an intransigent young architect, his violent battle against conventional standards, and his explosive love affair with a beautiful woman who struggles to defeat him. This edition contains a special Afterword by Rand's literary executor, Leonard Peikoff which includes excerpts from Ayn Rand's own notes on the making of The Fountainhead. As fresh today as it was then, here is a novel about a hero--and about those who try to destroy him.

2 customers found the following review helpful Simply Superb

Wow what a book ! The Fountainhead is definitely one of the best books I have read. Ayn Rand’s novel is not a pure literature. It deals with designs and architecture. The tale moves around few people in New York. The main hero is Howard Roark, a brilliant architect. He is highly talented, devoted to his work and independent. He has faith in his beliefs and ideology while the other people oppose him. The main theme of the story is the struggle between the creative and innovative ideas to the common one. The ideas are exciting, the writing is excellent. Ayn Rand is a powerful writer. She has the capacity to write brilliantly and effectively. In short, I enjoyed reading a lo and I am sure you too will enjoy.
