This is the most exciting book ever by Alexandre Dumas. Richard Pevear’s brisk, agile new translation succeeds It. “The Three Musketeers.” Originally serialized in Le Siècle between March and July of 1844 It is all about D'Artagnon and the three musketeers Athos, Porthos, and Aramis. This book covers all the elements of romance, action, rebel and history of France. All the four protect their king and queen zealously, even daring at times to sabotage the Machiavellian schemes of the very dangerous Cardinal Richelieu. The favorite character is Athos who has been something of a father figure throughout the novel. This is not just a classic tale of good versus evil. The story is speedy, quick action, lots of good and evil things in it. he story itself is well known, but Dumas’ writing is superb and really should be experienced first-had
Just pick this book up, turn the pages, and become completely absorbed in this most passionate, adventurous tale.
