Cooperative Information Systems Book Description

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 8th International Conference on Cooperative Information Systems, CoopIS 2001, held in Trento, Italy in September 2001. The 29 revised full papers presented together with three invited contributions were carefully reviewed and selected from 79 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on agent and systems; information integration; middleware, platforms, and architectures; models; multi and federated database systems; Web information systems; workflow management systems; and recommendation and information seeking systems.

Carlo Batini has contributed to Cooperative Information Systems as an editor. Carlo Batini is full professor of Computer Engineering at University of Milano Bicocca. He has been associate professor since 1983 and full professor since 1986. His research interests include cooperative information systems, information systems and data base modeling and design, usability of information systems, data and information quality. From 1995 to 2003 he was a member of the board of directors of the Authority for Information Technology in public administration, where he headed several large scale projects for the modernization of public administration.
