With his sublime parting words, "It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done..." Sidney Carton joins that exhalted group of Dickensian characters who have earned a permanent place in the popular literary imagination. His dramatic story, set against the volcanic fury of the French Revolution and pervaded by the ominous rumble of the death carts trundling toward the guillotine, is the heart-stirring tale of a heroic soul in an age gone mad. A masterful pageant of idealism, love, and adventure -- in a Paris bursting with revolutionary frenzy, and a London alive with anxious anticipation -- "A Tale of Two Cities is one of Dickens's most energetic and exciting works.

Charles Dickens was the finest author of historical literature. This is a masterwork by Charles Dickens. I was fully fascinated by the charm I felt while reading the book that I could not stop myself from writing a review for “A Tale of Two Cities”. I wanted to complement the author by sharing my views on the book. The book is set between Paris and London. The plot is strong. The language is simple and characters are well defined. Sydney Carton is an intelligent assistant of Mr. Stryver, the Lawyer of Charles Darnay. Carton loves Lucy Manette who marries Charles Darnay. Carton saves Darnay from death sentence with his brilliant art of prosecution.
This tale is far different from Charles other famous novels. It is a a story of personal loyalty, friendship, and communion. “A Tale of Two Cities” is an exciting novel and is highly recommended for all ages. Written in simple language, the book is easy to read and can inspire young readers. The end of the “A Tale of Two Cities” is an interesting one. For those who love historical novels it’s a must read.
