Electronic Components Book Description

A study of the basic Electronic Components is vital for any course in Electrical, Electronics and Communication. This book covers the various types of components used in all our circuits involving any analog or digital electronics. The knowledge of components enables one to design circuits and make PCBs, efficiently and economically. Wide coverage of all passive and active components, electro-mechanical parts is given in the book. Design rules and formulae are provided wherever necessary. The book will be useful to all those involved in Electronic Industries, assembling, testing and servicing circuit and boards of various kinds and purposes.






About the Author(s):K. Padmanabhan did his B.E., M.Sc. and Ph.D from the College of Engineering, Guindy. He has worked in the State Electricity Board, Chennai I.I.T., and in the Alagappa Chettiar College of Technology. Chennai for many years. His interests on the Electronic Components Industry in India started with the first edition of this book, in 1971. He has been associated with the development of the component industry and promoted the use of components over the past three decades in our country. He has written many electronics circuit articles, particularly in India's most popular magazine-'Electronic for you' since 1972.


P. Swaminathan, who has revised the book, is a B.E. and a member of the Institution of Electronic and Telecom Engineers. He has written many articles in 'Electronics for You' and' 'I.T. (India)' Magazines. He is now with the Easwari Engineering College, Chennai. He has presented papers in conferences on the developments in modern Electronic Components Industry.
