When Tarzan is orphaned as a baby deep in the African jungle, the apes adopt him and raise him as their own. By the time he's ten, he can swing through the trees and talk to the animals. By the time Tarzan is 18, he has the strength of a lion and rules the apes as their king. But Tarzan knows he's different and yearns to discover his true identity.
Unabridged classic adventure novel (1914) tells of an aristocratic English infant, abandoned on the death of his parents in the African jungle, who is reared by apes. Story includes riveting encounters with man-eating beasts, Tarzan's love affair with the beautiful Jane Porter, buried treasure, much more. Original, exotic, highly readable.

I first watched Disney’s animated Tarzan movie and liked the movie a lot. So, I decided to read the book also to check if I can get some good stuff in the book more than the movie. My expectation with the Tarzan book didn’t go wrong. I found the book more enjoyable and convenient than the animated movie. This book is a pleasure to read. I have kept this book in my little collection. The main hero is Tarzan. He is the character with intelligence and incredible strength. This is the primitive Tarzan, skilled and shy. Tarzan of the Apes is the story of a noble family who are abandoned by the pirates on the American coast. Tarzan is alone now as his parents are murdered by Kerchak and so, he is brought up by apes in African jungles. As he grows young, he realizes that he is not like other apes. He becomes a young warrior and he is the leader of the jungle being brave and powerful. Mr. Burroughs has told it so well, and has so succeeded in carrying his readers with him. This book has all the elements of action, excitement, drama, suspense, and unfortunately racism that makes this a sure read. It was enjoyable altogether.
