  Artemis Fowl and the Time Paradox

  Artemis Fowl; the much loved teenage criminal has a completely new mission. In this series, the mission is personal. This teenage prodigy who is also a criminal mastermind is all set for his mission. His mother is ill and the only way to cure her is to go back in time and battle his younger brother. In the earlier books he had discovered a race of mythical beasts which led to plenty of confrontations. He eventually made peace with them but now he must ask for a big favor and he should go back in time using demon magic. His mother is ill with a fatal sickness which can only be cured by a brain fluid of a Silky fur lemur. The problem however is that the fluid went extinct four years ago, and the last one that survived was killed by Artemis Fowl himself. Therefore the only way to get back the fluid is to walk back in time and fight his hardest opponent yet i.e. himself. The comparison of the older and younger Artemis is well presented in the book. It is especially interesting if the reader has read the other books in the series. Lighthearted yet conveying more profound issues of ethics; this should be apt to open up good dialogue with the younger folk. Artemis Fowl and the Time Paradox is action packed and full of humor. It is certainly going to be loved by 4th and fifth graders. I for one love the series and this book is certainly something I would recommend to children aged ten and above and adults like me.
