About the Author :

Herbert L Hyde has contributed to My Home is in the Smoky Mountains as an author. Hyde was born and raised in the Great Smokey Mountains. He has become widely known as a Man of the Mountains and a Man of The State. He is an Attorney at Law and has been practicing as a trial lawyer since 1954. During that time he served in the North Carolina Senate and the North Carolina House of Representatives. He also served as a member of the North Carolina Courts Commission, as Chairman of the State Commission For the Blind, and Secretary of the Department of Crime Control and Public Safety. A graduate of Western Carolina University, he earned his J.D. Degree.
