260Juhmpa Lahiri is a great story writer. Unaccustomed Earth shows her talent is in full bloom. Each of the eight stories in Unaccustomed Earth is superb. Every story is full of emotions and sentiments that are quoted so well in words. There is no gimmick in her writing. All the characters are shaped well that they all kept you stuck to the novel. The title story throws light on the relationship between a father and his daughter. They have different opinions which led to a frail bond between them. This is surely a powerful collection of short stories. Hats off to Jhumpa for such a dazzling fiction.
A very good fiction novel to read. Excellent work by Jhumpa Lahiri. This is straightway storytelling about issues which we all can relate ourselves with. All the stories are short yet written intelligently. This is the best fiction by her. All the stories are equally strong and touching that they don’t let you put the book down. Her work is masterful and confident. The title story revolves around Ruma and her widowed father who rarely talk about matters of real importance. A must read for all the book lovers.
