He has published articles and book chapters on a wide range of topics ranging from legal issues in policing to community prosecution. He is also the author of Crime Control in America: What Works? and Criminal Procedure: From First Contact to Appeal coauthor of Policing Today and co-editor of The Changing Role of the American Prosecutor (SUNY, 2009). He is also editor of the journal Police Quarterly.
