Best selling international novel on crime and mafias by Mario Puzo. The story revolves around Corleone family. Don Vito Corleone is the head of a New York Mafias. He is quite happy with his hotel and gambling business. Another gangster Solozzo offers him to work as a partner in drug selling business. Don Vito refuses to do so. Don Vito is shot by Solozzo's men. Solozzo then kidnaps one of Don's advisors, Tom Hagen and tries to make him force Don's eldest son, Sonny to agree to sell drugs, but the plan goes wrong when Solozzo finds out that Don Corleone is still alive. Sonny is shot dead. Don’s youngest son Michael Corleone slays Solozzo with pistol. Finally, Don is dead due to heart attack. Then Michael takes control of the family and business and revenge on his enemies.
This is a masterpiece by Mario Puzo. The suspense about the Don’s death is awesome. His writing had distinct style. This book has everything just like an perfect action movie like the mafias and their family, the domination, the fights, murder etc. This is easily one of the greatest books written in recent years.
