Daud is a young shepherd who spends much of his time watching over his sheep. Sometimes he has to use his staff to rescue one of his herd from a dangerous situation, and sometimes he has to use his sling to chase predators away, but every day, at sunrise and sunset, Daud does one thing: he sings praises to Allah. One day, Daud learns that his country is at war with another, their army boasting a giant for a leader named Jaloot. In spite of the fact that Daud is a shepherd and not a soldier, he believes that with his trusty sling and staff and his faith in himself and Allah, he can help. This is the first title in the series written and illustrated by Noura Durkee.
