Robin Cook is best known for his medical thrillers. His novels always have a considerable amount of medical knowledge. But sometimes, he uses some complicated medical terms which a layman may not be aware of. This is the second book I read. The first was Coma. Coma was a catchy medical thriller story of a hospital. The book features his two famous characters Dr. Jack Stapleton and Dr. Laurie Montgomery. Dr. Jack Stapleton is a forensic pathologist working at Manhattan General hospital in New York. He is disturbed as his patients are dying of rare diseases. Initially, his co-workers are not convinced. But when he investigates the death cases with his other colleagues, all has to believe that there is something going wrong. The plot was extremely good and Cook could manage to make a good story. The character development is a bit weak. The backgrounds of the characters are not clear for some and the dialogues seem flat in few paragraphs but that’s negligible. Nevertheless, as a whole, the novel is relatively entertaining and can be enjoyed for once.
