About the Author :

Sandy Callister has contributed to The Face of War: New Zealand's Great War Photography as an author. Sandy Callister is an honorary research associate in the history department of the University of Auckland. She holds a PhD in history from the University of Auckland. She is the recipient of a number of awards and scholarships including the Kate Edger Post Doctoral Award.
