About the Author :

Sun Tzu has contributed to The Art of War as an author. Thomas Cleary earned his Ph.D. in East Asian studies at Harvard University and is renowned for his translations of classic Chinese, Japanese, Sanskrit, Pali and Arabic religious texts. His translations include the bestselling 'The Art of War', 'The Essential Tao', 'The Essential Confucius', 'The Essential Koran', and 'The Secret of the Golden Flower'. He lives in Cambridge, MA.

  Excellent Book on Art of War

  The Art of War was compiled 2000 years ago. Till date this is the most used and known strategy book. The book explains Sun Tzu’s philosophies on war . It is more a philosophy on life than a guide to war. Sun Tzu on the Art of War is in use by the National Defense University and the U.S. Naval War College as a text for senior military officers. This book analysesthe many art of war concepts. Minford's new translation from Chinese to English is in a poetic form but yet apprehensive. Rated five star.
