Share the Sky Book Description

Fei fei's childhood in China is filled with wonderful things--her grandfather, a beautiful country, and soaring kites which she loves to fly. Then one day, Fei fei's parents call her to come live with them in America, and she flies a large "kite" with no strings across the ocean where everything is different.
Little Fei-fei loves kites. She lives in China with her grandfather, who makes the most beautiful kites. Then a letter arrives from North America--the time has come for her to join her parents there. She is full of questions and doubts about her new life in a country far away. Will she and Grandpa even share the same sky? On her first day at her new school, she is excited to find a rainbow-kite hanging in her classroom. And best of all, the teacher asks her to help the other students make kites.

"It is rare to see a picture book that expresses the heart-tugging journey of a young immigrant so clearly ... The design of the book is striking ... This excellent book is an example of a strong partnership between author and illustrator." - "Quill & Quire," starred review
