Wallace Delois Wattles was an American author whose literary works primarily dealt with the topic of "how to succeed." A pioneer success writer, he remains personally somewhat obscure, but his writing has been widely popular in the self-help movement.
"The Science of Getting Rich," first published in 1910, is his best known work. The book precedes Napoleon Hill and "Think and Grow Rich."
Based on a letter his daughter Florence wrote to author Elizabeth Towne after his death, it was learned that Wattles was born in the United States shortly before the Civil War, experienced much failure
