105This is on e of the good plays written by William’s Shakespeare. This is based on political conflict between the parties and the quest to achieve the power. The play is about Julius Caesar who is an honest and beloved Rome leader. He is the would be king. But Marcus Brutus, Julius’s political opponent and friend is also one of the most important character Brutus betrays Julius for the sake of Rome. So, he murders Julius and after that he himself commits suicide due to the guilty feeling. The most interesting and powerful segments are the descriptions of civil war, Julius murder, supporters struggle to get the power and suicide by Brutus. The speeches by Anthony and Brutus on the assassination of Julius are the finest speeches so far. Shakespeare beautifully explores the nature of tyranny, politics, betrayal and absolute power. His insights into human behavior and desires and characterization is pretty effective. I liked the play and it was an easy read. This book gives an fantastic reading. .) The story is great, a must-read for all history.
