Y.; professor of moral philosophy and theology at the New York Novitiate of the Paulist Fathers; founded (1874) and was editor of the Catholic Times (now the Buffalo Catholic Union and Times); editor of the Philadelphia Times, 1880-82; pastor of the Church of the Ascension, Scottsville, N. Y., 1890; assumed charge of the Freeman's Journal, New York, 1894. Author of the famous treatise, Notes on Ingersoll, a reply to the noted infidel, Robert Ingersoll, which was followed by Tactics of Infidels. Father Lambert died September 25, 1910, at Idylease Inn, Newfoundland, N. J. Few clergymen were better known throughout the United States.
