I purchased this book from infibeam.com and thanks as I received it on time. Fast service. The book (War and Peace) centers on Napoleon’s invasion of Russia in 1812. This is one of the greatest novel by Tolstoy. The story opens in 1805 in Moscow, proclamation of Napoleon as Emperor is the talk of the city. This book gives complete tableau of Russian society from 1805 to 1820 from emperors, ministers, generals to soldiers, officers and citizens. The three principal characters Natasha Rostov, Prince Andrew and Pierre Bezukhov are introduced together with a large group of their friends and relatives. They progress from youthful uncertainties to a mature and developed view towards life.
Magnificent and complex interweaving of the characters. Wonderful novel to read and enjoy.
