The most admirable quality of this book is that Mrs. Maria M. Fernandes has avoided unending verbosity which is the main flow of many well-known texts. She has focused immensely and commendably on the concept and their basicness. The content explored is vast, the coverage is exhaustive and the treatment is wholesome and indepth. Though, there exist innumerable books on the philosophical foundations of education, very few, prove to be serious attempts. The author has successfully brought out a volume which will take its readers on a travelogue from the realms of ancient philosophical goals, educational policies down to the philosophical ideas of ideologies of great Indian and Western Philosophers.
