I recently came across this book and I wanted to share some of my reading experiences with you all. This book is written by a Randy Pausch who was a professor at the Carnegie Mellon University.
Normally in the United States, professors are invited to lecture to their audience about their last lecture - imagining that the lecture they are just giving is the last ever in their life.
I was saddened to know that Randy's lecture was going to be indeed his last lecture as he declared his suffering from Pancreatic Cancer. This happened in September 2007, and in July 2008, the pancreatic cancer that Randy was suffering from took his life.
Although Randy lost his life to Pancreatic Cancer, his book has become extremely popular and I must recommend it as a source of determination and courage for every individual undergoing any sort of upheaval and problems in his or her life.
In his last lecture, Randy tells his audience, on how people can achieve their childhood dreams. It is really a moving, inspiring and uplifting book. My say is that there is already so much of pain and angst in this world... we almost end up cursing ourselves for not achieving despite having achieved so much already.
Randy's book as well as his life will continue to serve as a source of inspiration to parents, children, and even other individuals for generations to come.
