Indian food is synonymous to spicy delectable eatables, laden with spices, deep fried till crisp and every bit scrumptious. The time-honored snack and meals are often obtainable at kiosks. There is a wide miscellany and most of it is included in the book titled 'Street Food Of India'. The author of the book, Sephi Bergerson; is an Israeli who moved to India in 2002; in a quest to take up documentary and lifestyle photography. The visual documentation provided in the book is a real treat for street food lovers.
Street food today, ranges from desi Chinese food, vada pav, pani puri, sev puri, pakoras and other chaats. The moghlai kababs, biryani and sweets like Jalebi, balushais and the lip smacking gulab jamuns contribute to the miscellany. Frankies with an Indian touch are yet another category and the ethnic stuffing is delectable to the t. The 'finger licking good' slogan is more appropriate for the 'cant stop at one' kind of street food offered in the lanes of Lucknow, Hyderabad and Delhi.
The book includes a visual documentation of the stunning array of roadside snacks ranging from masala chai to vada pao, from parathas to chole-bhature and much more. Besides enjoying the visuals you can actually prepare these mouth watering delicacies with the help of 46 detailed recipes and tips provided in the book.
The appetizing aromas laced with crackling noise of fried foods are irresistible for passers by. The most enticing aspect is the affordability.
