On a beautiful fall day, the town of Chester's Mill, Maine, is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. No one knows what this barrier is and when--or if--it will go away.

Stephen King is one of the most popular writers of the horror/ thriller stories genre and this book by the author is surprisingly different. It is not merely unique as compared to the other books written by him but it seems more like an outlier.
In this story, akin to his earlier works, people are the main monsters where the bad guy is rich and a conservative Christian. His followers are depicted as idiots that blindly follow him with no sense to differentiate between the right and the wrong. This is no doubt one of the best works of the celebrated story teller Stephen King. In his tour de force, he features about 100 characters that are heroic, and diabolical with a supernatural element.
It is a very normal day in Chester`s Mill, Maine where the town is inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by a force field. As a result, planes are seen crashing into the town falling from the sky in wreckage. There is a team making strategies, to fight against the town's corrupt politicians. This is by far, one of the best epic oriented stuff written by Stephen King. It has all the elements that make for an interesting read and the right avenues to open up a whole new readership and subsequent following; hence I strongly recommend this book.
