The Fanatic Four, as one can make out from the title, is a story about four best friends: Vidit, Kishan, Madan and Vikrant. They hate being bookworms like other students in school and always end up getting low grades. But they are happy. This debut novel by a teenager gives a wonderful insight into their highs and lows, their love-hate relationships and dexterously encapsulating their emotional journey as they strive to achieve their goals in life. It describes how difficult things can get if one doesn't think straight. Will the underperformers finally manage to make it in life?

The title 'The Fanatic Four' very convincingly suggests the content of the book .The main theme of the book revolves around four friends. Vidit, Kishan, Madan and Vikrant are close buddies who hate being glued to books. As an outcome, they score low grades and fare poorly in academics. Despite this, this fantastic group of friends are very happy.
The book is written by a teenager and it provides a teenager's viewpoint of adolescent life, their highest highs and lows and the myriad love-hate relationships. The author has spun the story such that it aptly fits into a situation that makes for an amicable read. I have enjoyed the book thoroughly, as I could relate it to the lives of a couple of boys I know on a personal level. The best part of the novel is indeed the emotional twists and turns as the boys strive to achieve their goals.
The book is an eye opener, more so for teenagers who are not thinking straight most of the time. It is the perfect way to know the importance of being academically inclined to make it big in the professional world. Students that are not; often end up taking the hard and longer route to success. Will the 'fanatic four' finally achieve their goals? All this and more in the book that is a must read for youngsters and mentors.
