About the Author :

S. Upendran, a Professor in the Department of Materials Development at the English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad, has been writing the column, Know Your English in The Hindu, since 1991. The selections in this book are from those that featured between 1992 and 2009.

While there are lot of books available giving meaning for idioms, the challenge is to remember them and apply in writing or speaking. In this book Prof.Upendran gives the origin of those idioms which helps us in remembering the idioms easily. He also gives examples from which we can know the real time application.
