About the Book :
One boy, one boat, one tiger . . .
After the tragic sinking of a cargo ship, a solitary lifeboat remains bobbing on the wild, blue Pacific. The only survivors from the wreck are a sixteen year-old boy named Pi, a hyena, a zebra (with a broken leg), a female orang-utan ? and a 450-pound Royal Bengal tiger. The scene is set for one of the most extraordinary and best-loved works of fiction in recent years.

Bought this book at a discounted price from infibeam for my daughters, and they say that it is a great book. And, it arrived very quickly is a very packaging. I placed the order around 8 one evening and by 11 in the evening, the package was out with the courier company. Infibeam's tracking system is great.
Book reached me in good condition. I had my office address for delivery but since the book came on Saturday, when we are closed, I asked the delivery boy to bring it to my residence. He did that. I was very impressed with this service. I will happy to buy more often through Infibeam.
Truly worth Man Booker prize... What a story.. I cant think anyone could write so many chapter about life on a lifeboat.. It has a perfect blend of a book, at least for me. It has story, it has its spiritual content, it has the interesting aspect about it, and it has - a very impressive part - of facts and knowledge... At the moment, I think I can tame a tiger, if I am stranded with it on a lifeboat surrounded by ocean... If not tame a tiger, I am pretty sure I can live off land, on the water, in a lifeboat!! And I also think, no person, after reading this book, will ever give up his will to live, what may be the situation... Goes to my favorite books shlef.. It is indeed a story that will make you believe in God (you will understand, if you've read the author's note of the book)...
Yann Martel is a genius story teller and he weaves a tale that is entertaining. `Life of Pi` is the story of a 16-year old Indian boy Pi Patel. He spends 227 days at sea with a dangerous Bengal tiger as companion. Pi Patel's journey, and survival. He survives because of his intelligence, courage and confidence. There are moments when we feel pity about the little boy fighting with all the odds just to survive. Very touching and courageous tale. I am sure, Yann Martel will dazzle you with his prose and his mastery
