About the Author :

Mammen Mathew has 44 years of experience in the publication industry. He is the eldest of late KM Mathew the chief editor of this newspaper from 1973 till his death.  Mammen Mathew has done BA and MA from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi and worked as an intern in Times of India. Later he joined Manorama as its correspondent. He worked as reporter for Western Mail, Cardiff, UK in 1968. He also has worked with The Sunday Times in London. He then worked as a reporter for Oklahoma City Times and The Daily Oklahoma the following year.

It was in 1970 that he became the Resident Editor of Manorama the Kozikhode Unit. In 1980 he took charge as the GM Managing Editor of the Company in Kottayam. In 1988 he took charge as the Editor and MD of the company.

  A treat of information.

  I have been reading Manorama Yearbook from over three years now. I find it a better package among all the other yearbooks. This year's yearbook has more articles than previous year's with a fascinating article on Mathematics by Prof. Jayant Narlikar and a coverage on famous paintings of the world. There is an article on the rise of Badminton in India by none other than Prakash Padukone and an article on the future of India's agriculture by M.S. Swaminathan. The snippets at the bottom of every page are also very informative. Manorama Year Book always has something for people who are preparing for some competitive examination, or are just a knowledge monger who like reading an informative material in their leisure. This book is hence a necessity for some and an entertainment for some, and for some people it may be both. I look forward towards a long lasting association with Manorama Year Book, by getting myself updated by it's future editions and getting entertained by it's fantastic presentation.

  Got it on right time
