The Notebook Book Description

Nicholas Sparks lyrical tale instantly captured a lasting place on best-seller lists across the country. A tender love story, it also traces a mans struggle to hold onto what is good in his life despite age and disease. Noah and Allie survived the tests of time and distance in their courtship, and they remained close during a long and fruitful marriage. Now in old age, their lives are grounded in a nursing home. But instead of a gentle retirement, they daily battle a most formidable enemyone that steals their wonderful memories. By weaving together scenes from the past, a collection of intensely personal letters, and a narrative of the present, Nicholas Sparks tells an unforgettable lifes journey. Full of courage and passion, The Notebook is both a hymn of thanksgiving and a requiem. Narrator George Guidall provides the perfect emotional balance for this unabridged recording by voicing subtle shades of love, strength, and hope.
