Don Thompson is a retired high school social studies teacher who taught in Michigan, Vermont and the Syracuse, New York area. Since retiring, he has done first-person interpretations of historical figures such as Samuel de Champlain, Henry Hudson, Florida railroad baron Henry B. Plant and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie for schools and historical and civic groups. He has authored three books: The Golden Age of Onondaga Lake Resorts, Seeking the Northwest Passage and Lake Bomoseen, the Story of Vermont's Largest, Little-Known Lake.
