Pride and Prejudice Book Description

"It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife."One of the most famous opening sentences in literature introduces the world to Austen's classic tale of love, class, and marriage in 19th century England. The story follows Elizabeth Bennet, an independent, intelligent, and beautifulyoung woman who encounters her seemingly impossible suitor the rich, handsome, but prideful Fitzwilliam Darcy. Through their inevitable and at times adventurous courtship, both Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy gain self-understanding about themselves and their follies. Even after nearly 200 years, this tale of pride and prejudice continues to draw readers with Austen's masterful telling of a captivating love story, an insightful observation of human nature, and above all, a witty examination of a cast of unforgettable characters.

About the Author :

Jane Austen has contributed to Pride and Prejudice as an author. Although Jane Austen was only moderately successful in her lifetime, her six novels--including "Pride and Prejudice" and "Emma"--are true classics, beloved by millions through-out the world.

    All-time-favorite

A very good entertaining book by Jane Austen. it is a charming book. The story is portrayed in England in 17th century. The story is about Benett family. The father, mother and their five daughters. The mother is insecure about marriages of her daughters. All the daughters are different. They have different feeling and emotions. The second daughter is Elizabeth. She is intelligent, pretty and independent. The love story of Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy is quite interesting and humorous when Elizabeth misunderstands him. The way Jane Austen has linked all the characters is admiring. This book is awesome, Its an amazing novel. I feel that this story is something different and so everybody should read this.
