Fujifilm FinePix S2980 is a fully-featured digital camera designed specially to care for your emotional responses shaped by the photographic situation you desire to perpetuate with it.

Lens Elements

Consist of 14 lenses in 11 groups. It includes 18x Fujinon optical zoom having f=5.0-90.0mm focal length and full F3.1 (W) – F5.6 (T) aperture setting, and 6.7x digital zoom. Your subject could never be too far or too near for the desired shot.  

Auto Flash

It’s i-flash, and rises to the challenge when faced with a low light situation.

It features such flash modes as Auto, Forced Flash, Suppressed Flash and Slow Synchro, which are functional when Red-eye removal is off. And when the Red-eye removal is on, you have Red-eye Reduction Auto, Red-eye Reduction & Forced Flash, Suppressed Flash, Red-eye Reduction & Slow Synchro.  

Display

The 7.6 cm 230k-dot TFT color monitor offers as good as 97% coverage. It offers lyrical hues and clinical truth in what is being displayed there.

Image Boosters: Sensor, Image Stabilizer & Camera Effective Pixels

The 1/2.3 inch CCD with primary color filter, CCD shift type image stabilizer and 14 million camera effective pixels, combine to produce brilliant, vivid and colorful photographic representation of your subjects.

Autofocus

It’s TTL contrast AF with AF assist illuminator, featuring Single AF / Continuous AF (SR AUTO, Movie) and AF frame selection options including Center, Multi, Area and Tracking.

This camera’s focusing range from the lens surface is approximately 40cm to infinity (W) and 2.5m to infinity (T), in Macro mode, approximately 5cm to 3.0m (W) and approximately 1.8m to 3.0m (T), and in Super Macro, approximately 2 cm to 1.0 m.  

Aperture, ISO & Shutter

Aperture offers F3.1 / F6.4 (W) and F5.6 / F11 (T) with ND filter. And the Standard Output Sensitivity it offers 64 to 3200. ISO 3200 / 6400 is effective in S modes. It delivers its goods even when there prevails a low light situation. Its mechanical shutter offers 1/4 sec to 1/2000 sec in Auto and 8 sec to 1/2000 sec in all other modes.  

Shooting & Capture Modes

These are meant for responding adequately and artfully to different photographic situations. To this effect you have Zoom Bracketing, Natural Light & with Flash, Natural Light, Portrait, Baby, Smile, Landscape, Sport, Night, Night (Tripod), Fireworks, Sunset, Snow, Beach, Party, Flower and Text.  

If you’re in for recording movies, you can shoot 1280 x 720 pixels, 640 x 480 pixels, 320 x 240 pixels at 30 fps with monaural sound. You can even use the zoom function while shooting.

And there are some very useful photographic functions you have at your disposal. These include SR AUTO, Instant zoom, Face Detection, Auto red-eye removal, Framing guideline, Blink detection, Histogram display, Motion panorama and Frame no. memory.

Playback
