SUPERB LENS ELEMENTS

These are LUMIX G 14mm / F2.5 ASPH lenses which sit well on Micro Four Thirds mount. They come in 5 groups and 6 elements, and have 3 Aspherical lenses. These offer f=14mm focal length and assisted by 7 diaphragm blades-type circular aperture that offers as good as F2.5 f-value. 

AUTO FOCUS

You achieve perfect focus with Contrast AF system type autofocus, which offers AFS, AFC and MF modes. The Autofocus modes available are Face Detection, AF Tracking, 23-area-focusing, 1-area-focusing and Pinpoint. It has AF Detective range of EV 0 – 18 (ISO100 equivalent) and is helped by AF Assist lamp. Other important elements featured in this focus are Quick AF, Continuous AF (during motion image recording), AF+MF, Touch shutter and Touch MF Assist.

BUILT-IN FLASH

It’s TTL built-in, GN6.3 equivalent, Built-in Pop-up type flash which offers Auto, Auto Red-eye Reduction, Forced On, Forced On Red-eye Reduction, Slow Sync, Slow Sync Red-eye Reduction and Forced Off. The synchronization speed it offers is less than 1/160 sec. And then there is 1^st Curtain Sync flash synchronization.

Image Sensor

It’s 17.3 x 13.0mm (4:3) type Live MOS Sensor with Primary Color filter and Supersonic wave filter which reduces dust. It also features 12.10 camera effective pixels.

For Movie SCN mode, it offers Portrait, Soft Skin, Scenery, Architecture, Sports, Flower, Food, Objects, Low-light, Party and Sunset. 

There are also Creative Controls such as Expressive, Retro, High key, Sepia, High Dynamic and Miniature.

What’s more, there are also Image Quality options like RAW, RAW+Fine, RAW+Standard, Fine, and Standard, MPO+Fine, MPO+Standard with 3D lens in Micro Four Thirds System standard.

If you go in for Burst speed, you can shoot at 3.8 fps in H, 2.8 fps in M and 2 fps in L mode. And you can shoot as many as 7 images when there are RAW files with the particular speed, and unlimited consecutive shooting when there are no RAW files. However the latter depends on memory card size, battery power, picture size and compression.

ISO & SHUTTER SPEED

Offers 100-6400 settings for both Auto and Intelligent ISO.

As for shutter, it offers Focal-plane shutter that for stills offers 1/4000 ~ 60 and for motion images offers 1/16000 ~ 1/30 (NTSC) and 1/16000 ~ 1/25 (PAL) speed.
