I am from chennai. Delivery and customer service are excellent. Thanks to Infibeam's customer service Dept In magic box , would like to see more products like this muralil
I bought this for rs.5495 on cod and have received it today...I think it's a really good buy as the rate is much cheaper when compared to other sites like flipkart..Moreover good customer service..Transfer speed is around 10mb/s for Usb 2.0.I didn't check out the speed for usb 3.0 so far..It's hardly the size of your palm so it's quite compact..Iam satisfied....
This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks to infi's Magic Box deal. I got it for a nice price. Transfer speed is 70MB/s on an average. This is a must have.
Product is very handy. Highly portable. Dont go by the images. Its actually small in size. Read/Write speed is good enough. Cable length is ok. Overall pretty satisfied.
The four stars are for both the product and the service from Infi-beam. The product I received was as described. A very handy and portable device which doesn't require external power. It comes with a single chord which is about 35-40 cm in length -- it might be fine for laptops, but may not always be so for desktops, although I use it for the latter. I don't have any metrics on the transfer speed (I use USB 2.0 only on a slightly old PC) but I find it satisfactory. It doesn't come with any built-in programmes; just plug and play, so to speak. Oh, no problems with detection and file transfers with Windows XP, Ubuntu 12.04 or Linux Mint 13 (the latter two in Live CDs). As for infi-beam, I was a bit apprehensive about ordering from this store after reading about a few cases online where the product hand't been delivered and things like that. (To be on the safer side, I opted for CoD.) However, in my case, it was all smooth sailing. I received a confirmation call on the day it was supposed to be dispatched; some hours later, I received tracking information via e-mail; and then, within the scheduled date of delivery, the product was promptly delivered, with the courier service also confirming the parcel over phone. So, why only 4 stars, then, you ask? Well, that's for a bit misleading marketing on the part of IB. While the product's MRP is listed as Rs. 10,500, the packaging listed it as Rs. 6,800 (for something that was imported only a few months back). So the discounts you see is, as I said, misleading.
I got my WD Elements 1TB USB 3.0 yesterday. The product is quite decent. I bought it through infibeam, through a 3rd Seller Storagemania. I placed the order on 17th Nov and received it on 28th Nov. I feel that 11 days is too much time. But on the other hand a friend who had bought it from S.B Road, Bangalore bought a similar WD Elements 1TB USB 2.0 for 5000/- last month. I had to pay only 4308/-. Since I was not really in a hurry, I feel I got a good deal. Right now Infibeam has an "Out of stock" message for the same. Note that WD Elements has on automatic backup. WD My Passport had automatic backup, but is costlier.
This is my 3rd portable hard drive - I am also currently using a WD Passport 1TB and a Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex 1TB. Pros: 1. Small form factor - smaller than the seagate drive and definitely more portable. Looks good as well. 2. The surface has a matt finish and will not scratch easily. This is much better than the Seagate drive which scratches in less than a week with even with delicate usage. 3. The cable is perfect length for use with a laptop - a longer cable would have meant reduced portability. It is also thicker and looks more durable than the seagate cable. 4. No additional software included - just plug and play! 5. Speed is consistent with USB 3.0 standards - about 50MB/s write and 60-70 MB/s read - same as the seagate and WD Passport. 6. Rubber feet at the bottom makes sure the drive doesnt slip or slide when kept flat on a table. Neither the WD Passport nor the seagate drive have this. 7. Cost - comes in about 15% cheaper than a WD Passport or the new Seagate drives. Cons: 1. The USB 3.0 connector on the drive side looks a little fragile. 2. No software for locking or securing the drive - WD Passport includes this software.
Received the delivery of the product on the fourth day of placing the order. The packaging was excellent. Got this hard disk for about 15% less price as compared to the same hard disk I had bought directly from a store some 2-3 months back. To sum up - "Satisfaction" is the word.
