-- Readers Digest India magazine, October 2015
Our greatest wish as we bring to you the October cover story is that its message should trigger a mass movement across India. “The Priest & the Industrialist” is about how the selfless acts of two men sparked off an unprecedented organ-donation movement across Kerala. Award-winning actress Vidya Balan is not just a force to reckon with in Bollywood. Read about her social commitment and humanitarian work in "The RD Interview." For Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, we have "The Man Next to Me," a moving account of how a woman received unexpected wisdom that helped her fight the disease. Other highlights of the issue include the moving tale of an Indian soldier fighting in the World War I, and his saga of valour and fidelity, an article that explores why India can't get enough of setting unusual world records, and an endearing "Book Bonus" about an old lady who refused to sell her house to real estate developers. Give yourself some food for thought with Ruskin Bond's "Words of Lasting Interest" and of course, there is "Kindness of Strangers," which affirms that all is not lost. As always, our humour sections are packed with anecdotes to tickle your funny bone.
