Nokia Lumia 820 Review
Average Rating :
My Escape from Boredom
Life has turned a new chapter for me since the time I got the amazing Nokia Lumia 820. Not only has its flawless performance and sleek looks amazed me, but with my Lumia 820 I never feel bored. The Android and iOS have a strong fan base in the market, but itâÂÂs only after using a Windows OS phone that I realised its many benefits and excellent performance. Lumia 820 directly relates to my boisterous nature and I have the option of making my Lumia 820 a fashion statement, thanks to its interchangeable covers and matching headsets. When it comes to the software aspect, my Lumia 820 is a clear victory. It consists of a dual core 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor and Adreno 225GPU with 1GB RAM that function together to render a beautiful experience. Now I can play games, multitask and listen to music without any danger of the phone hanging or getting slow. The 4.3-inch large AMOLED touchscreen display ensures that everything looks crystal clear and vibrant. A subtle touch of my fingers is enough to zoom into images just with a swipe. Windows Phone 8 OS is a clear winner here. The Live tiles feature is just amazing and allows me to add shortcuts to my favourite apps on the homescreen. Now, without accessing social networking sites, I can access my friendâÂÂs posts and navigate through their updates by means of the PeopleHub app.
I never feel the need for my PC as I can use Bing and internet explorer 10 on my wonder phone with ease. 3G technology enables me to access just about everything on my Lumia 820 and also enables me to stream contents online.
Much Awaited Delight
My parents gifted me the Nokia Lumia 820 on my birthday just last week after my constant whining for this much anticipated series in Nokia! My parents for one also agreed because of the trustworthy name of Nokia. What I got was an unmatched combination of technology and style. I love the funky colours it comes in and the best part is that I can keep changing the covers of my Lumia as and when I like. IâÂÂm so bored of the dull colours of most smartphones in the market and Lumia 820 is definitely a breath of fresh air! I even spied matching headsets in my market and they are definitely my next buy. Apart from the looks, Nokia Lumia 820 has varied features in it! Where should I start? Beneath the sleek and stylish exterior, this phone hosts a dual core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon processor and an impressive Adreno 225 GPU along with 1 GB RAM. The internal 8 GB memory is sufficient, but I have expanded it to 32 GB using a microSD card. ThereâÂÂs a host of connectivity features in the Lumia 820 as well, right from the trusty Bluetooth to NFC and Wi-Fi. I have subscribed to a 3G data plan and I easily access all my favourite websites, check emails and stream content online. Internet Explorer 10 and Bing are my personal favourites as I am accustomed to using them on my home PC. Microsoft Office documents like Word, Excel and PowerPoint can be viewed and edited on my phone easily and this has come in very handy at crucial times.
Lumia 820 comes with a big 4.3-inch large AMOLED touchscreen display which makes everything on my phone look vibrant and striking. I can easily swipe and zoom into images with a mere touch of my fingers with the cutting-edge multi-touch feature on my phone. Like any high-end smart phone, Nokia Lumia 820 has an 8 MP camera that clicks very high quality pictures. I can even record videos in full HD 1080p quality.
The Next Big Thing!

Joining the Lumia Camp
I just couldnâÂÂt find a substitute to my favourite and most adorable Samsung Galaxy since the moment I lost it. But my day to day tasks needed me to find a replacement to my phone soon. After checking with some local shops and web sites, I finally chose to get myself a new Nokia Lumia 820 for its realistic and adorable design.
After going through the phone, I realized what the Windows 8 OS is all about and why it is so unique from the others in comparison to Android and iOS. Firstly, I purchased some colourful cases to match the phoneâÂÂs external appearance with my clothes. The phone looks great in that shiny exterior. But inside that shiny and solid casing, there is a dual core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon processor and Adreno 225 GPU responsible for lag free running of my Lumia 820. The 1 GB RAM quite easily takes me through heavy multitasking and graphics intense gaming. The 4.3-inch AMOLED touchscreen display is absolutely stunning with its bright and crystal clear visuals. The OS displays an array of Live tiles and also incorporates the adding of my favorite apps to the home screen. All my friends are pinned to these tiles using People Hub. In this way, I can view their status updates without taking the trouble of logging onto social networking web sites or navigating to their profile pages. I can also post my status update on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter simultaneously.
Web browsing on the phone is smooth with the likes of Internet Explorer 10 and Bing. By opting for an apt 3G data plan, I can easily do data browsing at recommendable speeds. The advantage with these browsers is that I am used to these as they are also installed on my desktop so I donâÂÂt need to learn anything new to use these easy to use apps. I have a knack of clicking snaps particularly when I go on trips with friends or family.
