Whoa! I can’t believe Windows phones can be so much fun. Yes, it is true. Having been an avid admirer of Android, I was a bit sceptical about using a Windows phone. But I have always been someone who tries out new things and I am extremely happy at my decision of choosing the Nokia Lumia 820 Windows Smartphone. Firstly, let me start with the vibrancy and the stylish design of this phone. This Nokia Lumia comes in a vivacious range of colours that brings out my spirited character. Besides, there are trendy outer shells available in different colours matched with headphones that look very cool. I have already bought a couple of outer shells with matched headphones to match my attire. This Nokia Lumia 820 is powered by a dual core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon processor and Adreno 225 GPU along with 1 GB RAM that gives me incredible and seamless performance. I can play games, use apps, access internet or even watch movies simultaneously without experiencing any kind of glitches. My Nokia Lumia 820 comes with a wide 4.3-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that offers amazing viewing clarity. I upgraded to the Nokia Lumia 820 from my Samsung Galaxy SII last week. While the dual core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon processor, Adreno 225 GPU and 1 GB RAM ensure that multitasking doesn’t hang my phone, it’s the Windows Phone 8 OS that makes me really happy. Having used iOS and Android, the Windows experience on the Nokia smartphone is refreshing. I haven’t missed any of the apps from the Samsung Galaxy. The Microsoft Office app enables me to easily view and edit documents, and Nokia Drive and Maps bring the best out of GPS. The 4.3-inch crystal clear large AMOLED touchscreen complements the interface, whether it’s Live tiles, PeopleHub that connects me to my friends on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, or the web experience via Internet Explorer 10 and Bing. Nokia Lumia 820’s 8 MP camera (F2.2 aperture Carl Zeiss Tessar lens) offers a Panorama mode and lets me record full HD 1080p videos. The internal 8 GB memory is adequate, but I upgraded to a 32 GB microSD card. A truly connected smartphone, the Lumia 820 features NFC, in addition to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. I can even wirelessly charge my Lumia 820 using the charging pad.

I just couldn’t find a substitute to my favourite and most adorable Samsung Galaxy since the moment I lost it. But my day to day tasks needed me to find a replacement to my phone soon. After checking with some local shops and web sites, I finally chose to get myself a new Nokia Lumia 820 for its realistic and adorable design. After going through the phone, I realized what the Windows 8 OS is all about and why it is so unique from the others in comparison to Android and iOS. Firstly, I purchased some colourful cases to match the phone’s external appearance with my clothes. The phone looks great in that shiny exterior. But inside that shiny and solid casing, there is a dual core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon processor and Adreno 225 GPU responsible for lag free running of my Lumia 820. The 1 GB RAM quite easily takes me through heavy multitasking and graphics intense gaming. The 4.3-inch AMOLED touchscreen display is absolutely stunning with its bright and crystal clear visuals. The OS displays an array of Live tiles and also incorporates the adding of my favorite apps to the home screen. All my friends are pinned to these tiles using People Hub. In this way, I can view their status updates without taking the trouble of logging onto social networking web sites or navigating to their profile pages. I can also post my status update on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter simultaneously. Web browsing on the phone is smooth with the likes of Internet Explorer 10 and Bing. By opting for an apt 3G data plan, I can easily do data browsing at recommendable speeds. The advantage with these browsers is that I am used to these as they are also installed on my desktop so I don’t need to learn anything new to use these easy to use apps. I have a knack of clicking snaps particularly when I go on trips with friends or family.

The Windows phone 8 Operating System is quite versatile and simple to understand as it mirrors its desktop version that I have at home. I can post updates to all my social networking accounts like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn simultaneously. I can also access all the updates of my friends on my home screen due to the Live tiles feature and PeopleHub. No more logging in to sites and checking profile! I can store all my work related data in the 8 GB memory of my Lumia 820, but I have expanded to 32 GB using a microSD card to hold my favourite song collection too. This is my best purchase to date!

My parents gifted me the Nokia Lumia 820 on my birthday just last week after my constant whining for this much anticipated series in Nokia! My parents for one also agreed because of the trustworthy name of Nokia. What I got was an unmatched combination of technology and style. I love the funky colours it comes in and the best part is that I can keep changing the covers of my Lumia as and when I like. I’m so bored of the dull colours of most smartphones in the market and Lumia 820 is definitely a breath of fresh air! I even spied matching headsets in my market and they are definitely my next buy. Apart from the looks, Nokia Lumia 820 has varied features in it! Where should I start? Beneath the sleek and stylish exterior, this phone hosts a dual core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon processor and an impressive Adreno 225 GPU along with 1 GB RAM. The internal 8 GB memory is sufficient, but I have expanded it to 32 GB using a microSD card. There’s a host of connectivity features in the Lumia 820 as well, right from the trusty Bluetooth to NFC and Wi-Fi. I have subscribed to a 3G data plan and I easily access all my favourite websites, check emails and stream content online. Internet Explorer 10 and Bing are my personal favourites as I am accustomed to using them on my home PC. Microsoft Office documents like Word, Excel and PowerPoint can be viewed and edited on my phone easily and this has come in very handy at crucial times. Lumia 820 comes with a big 4.3-inch large AMOLED touchscreen display which makes everything on my phone look vibrant and striking.
