In a parallel universe, in another slump-backed, crinkle nosed small town called Pankinagar, Vimmi, our heroine, faces the same dilemma. Bunty Aur Babli: A Feel Good Movie!

Masala movies have enthralled the audiences since ages. Ever wondered how monochrome the industry would be, had it not been for movies like Amar Akbar Anthony, Sholay, Nasseeb, etc? These hugely successful movies of the seventies had the audiences thronging the cinema halls. Little wonder then, that movies like these made the audiences, cry, & laugh and rejoice & always go back for more.
Contemporary hindi cinema is based largely on true-life incidents, stories inspired by Sci-fi & adventure themes. Despite this, there is a majority of audience that loves to watch the typical hindi masala movie. Bunty Aur Babli is one such movie which is lively, youthful and the quintessential cinema you would want to unwind with.
Bunty Aur Babli has Abhishek Bachchan & Rani Mukherjee in the lead roles. Also seen is the senior Bachchan. The movie is about two avid dreamers who want to make it big in life. Their earlier attempts are genuine but life doesn't give them a fair chance. So the only other way to achieve success is to use wit and that is exactly what the duo does. The movie is certainly a reminiscent of the masala movies of the 70's & 80's.
Rakesh and Vimmi meet along the course of their respective journeys and hit it off really well. They hoodwink hoteliers, business men, investors and in the process end up upsetting a cop named Darshath played by Amitabh Bachchan.
These two characters on the run are chased by the relentless cop & in the end their wit wins the cop over & they are offered investigation jobs that will pay them big bucks. The movie may seem quite unrealistic but sure makes for a fun watch. Cinematography is excellent with some very good performances by Amitabh, Rani & Abhishek. The characters seem to suit them to the t & they have done full justice to the roles.
I have enjoyed myself thoroughly and own a Bunty Aur Babli DVD. This should brighten up a boring & mundane day of reality shows & serious movies that we are so accustomed to watching.
