Kambakht Ishq - A good one-time watch

Bored of all the sci-fi and epic movies? Tired of watching the same mundane action stuff and the typical melodrama? Then kambakht Ishq is the ideal choice to kick start the weekend. There is drama, music, exotic locales, a bit of action, some gross comedy you have got to bear with and the quintessential essence of Hindi movies, we so love.

The talks doing the rounds that the movie is a mix of cultures is nothing but an overstatement. There is no racial confluence except for the one brief fleeting moment when Sylvester Stallone appears on the screen and beats up the goons is, well at the most admirable. It may take you down memory lane and the manner in which the young Rambo made his way into our hearts.

Kareena is energetic and wears impressive clothes. Akki is good, as a stuntman and an actor. The comedy is okay but fails to tickle the funny bone. The supporting start cast is quite good especially Kiron Kher. Javed Jaffery is cute and to a certain extent is successful in making the audiences laugh.

On the whole, you can watch it if you decide to abstain from scrutiny and watch it for the pure pleasure of company, pop corn and of course entertainment.

Kambakkht Ishq - Fairly good music score

Sabir Khan directed movie Kambakkht Ishq has music given by Anu Malik and lyrics by Anvita Dutt Guptan. It boasts of Hollywood stars like Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards, and Brandon Routh and is expected to do good on the box office. Anu Malik has attempted to make good use of various techniques and this makes some of the songs rise above the rest. You will find five original songs and four that are remixes.

I had a great time listening to Bebo by Alisha Chenai and Om Mangalam. Kyun is impressive with Shan and Shreya, and you might just about appreciate Lakh Lakh. The other songs are okay. You might like to watch the song in which Kareena Kapoor wears an 8 lakh dress, and there's also a song in which Sajid Nadiadwala spent nearly 1.5 crore. On the whole, the music is above average, though some numbers are good.
