Infibeam Pi is the most recent mate I bought, after watching it on NDTV Gadget Guru. Pi is every bit a bibliophile's nugget. Quite honestly, I was bowled over by the price. Yes! It is incredibly affordable and Infibeam does a great job of delivering it for free, anywhere in India.
Infibeam Pi is light to hold weighing a mere 180g and measuring 10mm, in thickness. Your hands won't wear out while you read novels which you can`t put down. The user interface has been meticulously designed. The effect of reading magazines and newspapers is simply outstanding, thanks to the E-ink version. I particularly like the 'font change' and the 6" E Ink (R) display which makes reading all the more fun. Infibeam Pi can store up to 500e books but I still have a long way to go, as I have stored 50 books for now. The built-in memory of 512MB may be enhanced to 4GB with the micro SD card slot.
One may wonder why the keyboard option is missing, but the makers are clear on one thing. It is designed to be an eBook reader and does its job very well. The more advanced versions will have the wireless 3G option but I am satisfied with this one. Yes, I need to use my computer to download books and upload them onto the Pi reader, but the price tag of Rs.9,999 makes me want to do all that and more, so I can read my favorite books in leisure. All in all, this has been my best buy in the last five years. The Pi is a true value for money and a captivating product from the Indian shores. Pi reader is a boon for the price conscious and the bibliophile in me has one more reason to smile.

I already own a Kindle, and bought the Infibeam Pi for my daughter more as an experimental trial than with thoughts to seriously use it. I am delighted to say, that my Kindle is going to my daughter, and I am transferring to using Infibeam Pi, it's stupendous.
You wouldn't know what I mean unless you have used other eBook readers like the Kindle which not only come at a hefty price but also with almost non-existent support.
When I opened a magazine in the Infibeam Pi, it was not bland blocks of paperback text, but a text display, with proper indentations, alignment and highlighting. For, the first time I felt I was truly reading a live magazine on an eBook reader. The Kindle doesn't even match up, where reading pleasure is concerned. But that is my opinion, you are welcome to your own.
