The Audi A4 1.8 turbo petrol is Audi's entry level petrol model in India which sports Audi's remarkable 1.8L In-line 4, 164bhp turbocharged petrol engine with MPFi fuel system. This engine is globally renowned for its high performance, acceleration and torque.

Capable of a fuel economy ranging from approximately 11 kmpl to 13 kmpl depending upon driving conditions, this variant features a large 70 litre capacity fuel tank, thereby meaning less refuelling on long journeys. The power unit is connected to a 7 speed automatic transmission system, which means superb precision during gear shifts.

  The Audi is a series of classic cars, that's what I knew already when I went to the showroom in Mumbai to pick up my Audi A4. Well, for the price, it is an expensive car but offers the same frills as others in the range. I've got an Audi, because I own two other cars as well, the Toyota Corolla and the BMW 6 series. To me the Audi's engine does not sound as refined as that of the BMW 6 series, but the Audi's engine is an above average performer. It takes you places as soon as you hit the accelerator, but the A4 feels a bit noisy when given the ignition. However, it quietens down after you rev it up a bit. Comparatively, the BMW was more silent. However I prefer the Audi for a whole load of reasons, including daily business trips rather than an exotic run down on Marine Drive in the BMW. There are a host of other features that are excellent as well, such as the CVT and Sports Mode that respond beautifully. Frankly, the engine is a bit uninspiring, but the A6 and the A8 perform much better and are viable contestants to the competition they face from equivalent makes. The suspension is a bit above average, but good enough for city rides with some pothole handling ability. The A4 is a bit stubborn when it comes to handling bends and corners; I think they should have done a bit more about the steering. Good legroom overall, but for taller people, it's a compromise. On the whole the Audi A4 is a great model, but since it's meant to be an entry level variant in its segment, Audi has unnecessarily made a lot of compromises on this model.

  Great performance and looks

  By Neha I wanted to purchase a car which offers me luxury never offered before by any car in India and that led me to buy AUDI A4. In India, style and substance matters a lot to any buyer and this car is the best option offering both. This is one of the car which has 7 speed gears which provides great driving experience to the speed lovers. Good mileage and a huge fuel capacity tank are varied feature of this car. Split and folding rear seats are one of the unique feature of this car. In all a great car to enjoy driving.
