So if you are looking for a car in the 8 lakh bracket (plus or minus a few thousands), Chevrolet has churned out a winning recipe in the form of Chevrolet Optra. A luxury car akin to a spacious sedan, it has admirable leg room in the front and back, as well as good boot space. Optra is supposedly the right choice for a well-heeled Indian buyer.
Chevrolet has pulled out all stops to endow that stylish, glamorous tinge to Optra. Originally designed by Pininfarina, the body coloured grip type door handles, body coloured waistline moulding, B-Pillar Styling Strip, body Coloured Trunk-Lid garnish, add a splash of exclusivity to the car.
The interiors evoke a feeling of awe and warmth. New Design Coffee and Beige Interiors with walnut finish wood trims endow you with a refreshing feeling.
Moreover, 60:40 Split Folding Rear Seat, height adjustable driver seat, circular AC vents with Silver finish are all well crafted to contribute towards the comfort quotient.
As in the case of other cars, Chevrolet has taken utmost care of safety and security aspects in Optra too. Central Locking and 5 MPH Impact Proof Front and Rear Bumpers are two cardinal security aspects taken care off by Chevrolet.
Sporty looks, great diesel engine defines Chevrolet Optra Magnum Max. The variant has in its fold an AC, power windows, remote boot, remote fuel filler, rear defrogger and fog lamp, with respect to the convenience and safety aspects. The maximum power of this variant is 120PS@3000rpm, while the maximum torque power is 314Nm@2125rpm.
I had purchased an optra magnum from Thane. The vehicle is running fine. But I have certain unsolved queries and even the dealer seems disinterested in solving them. I have listed the queries below:
1) Is there a Extended Warranty on the vehicle or has it to be purchased
2) I understand there is a Service commitment of a certain amount of money that will be spent in three years, please advise me what is the same
3) where can i get the customization of my seats done in PU leather
So far I am satisfied with the feel and performance of the vehicle.i feel the cooling cud have been better and GM could have provided mud flaps / floor mats since the vehicle is already priced quite high. Don't you think so? Please advice.
What should I say about the car? Awesome power. Awesome ride. Handling good. Suspension great. Braking effective. Capable machine. A class in itself. Yes I got my "Black Horse" recently and I m really enjoying it.
I've owned the accent crdi, skoda rider, verna vgt and I would say this is the best. Far better than the skoda in terms of handling, braking, suspension, pick-up, leg room, power steering.
Drawbacks that I can come up with:
* Gear shift is too rigid
* Interiors-not to my liking after driving the civic
* position of the handbrake and indicator-may be GM forgot they are selling it in India where they drive from the right seat or they are just taking us for granted..
Overall, a great value for money and an excellent upgrade for passionate drivers!!
