A few months back my life revolved around the new Honda Accord. However a major accident,changed my outlook towards the Honda manufactureres completely. The problem is that there is an acute shortage of car parts in India. Therefore it takes months to get the car repaired.There is ofcourse no recourse with the company - So I was forced to rent a car for the last four months. Worst decision to purchase this car, I will never buy another honda again. The dealers didn't even demonstrate basic decency, as they never gave a realistic timeline as to when will my car be ready.I have been told time and again that it is a matter of a week or 10 days. However numerous deadlines have passed. They are totally unresponsive and I need to call them every week. My car went in for repair in August and it is December ’05 now and there is still no indication when my car will be returned. The amount of money that I have spent in renting a car I might as well have purchased a new one.
The bubble of Honda is all set to burst.Even the salepersons accept the fact that Honda offers poor sales services.The company can't simply pull on in the market with its flattering looks.The indifferent attitude of the company will surely takes it toll.
We have a couple of Honda Accord cars amongst colleagues and friends. And believe me the service levels is pathetic. The time taken for doing repair job especially which requires changing the parts is extremely high.
Often parts have to imported before they can be supplied to the dealer for fitting in a customers vehicle. Honda, it appears is not serious on the Indian market as their
volumes are very low. My suggestion to them is to focus on this market and improve their image else they will land in a segment of a " great product & lousy service"
Should't a company like Honda to be sensitive to their image irrespective of the size of business from the indian market.
