The Hyundai Getz Prime is an idyllic combination of looks and power. At the heart of this car lies the wonderful 12 V, 4-cylinder SOCH engine. This 1.3 litre technological marvel delivers remarkable power of 82.9 PS at 5500 rpm. Actually, it practical terms, it is the comfort of the Getz and the engine of the Santro that make up the Getz prime.

The Hyundai Getz Prime offers a five speed manual transmission that requires lesser shifting effort consequently presenting smaller amount of gear sticking. The Getz is also equipped with exceptional braking technology and optional Anti Lock Brake System (ABS) technology that is able to cope up with sudden braking situations while preventing locking of skidding of the vehicle. The vehicle is available in the following variants namely Hyundai Getz Prime 1.1 GLE, Hyundai Getz Prime 1.1 GVS, Hyundai Getz Prime 1.3 GLS, Hyundai Getz Prime 1.3 GLX and Hyundai Getz Prime 1.5 GVS CRDi.

This variant features Hyundai's 1086 cc 1.1L SOCH engine equipped with a five speed manual transmission. It has a seating capacity of five people. It offers a good fuel economy of around 15.8 kmpl on highways, and 11 kmpl in city driving conditions. Thereby, it offers a respectable overall fuel economy of around 12.2 kmpl. The fuel tank capacity is 45 litres.

Features that are standard to this variant are air conditioning, power steering, child safety locks, front fog lights, rear defroster and defogger. However, other features like power seating, music system and AM/FM radio are missing in this variant.

Further, the Getz prime 1.1 GLE comes with magnificent comfort features like both side outside rear view mirror, tinted glass, body colour bumper, waist line moulding, body colour, hub wheel cover, and others. Plush interiors replete with semi-cloth upholstery, electronic trip meter, rear parcel tray, 60:40 rear back rest, an assortment of storage spaces, and folding rear seats, deluxe floor console, map pockets among others lend a grand look to this car.

Hyundai's top concern for safety lends the 1.GLE with some top class safety features like child-safety rear door locks, day and night inside rear view mirror, dual side impact protection, and headlamp levelling device.

  Getz Vs Palio

  I have got the delivery of my new Getz Prime on 23 October. It was pretty difficult for me to part from Palio GTX which I have been using for more than 5 years. There are few things I liked about Getz compared to Palio like ample space, number of slots for regular items (water bottles, wallets, bags, keys, mobiles, portable ashtray etc)., properly positioned handrest for the left hand side seaters, smooth and superior suspensions, less radius turning, tiltable steering, little higher position of the driver vision, great pickup, finger tips are enough to change the gears, flat dashboard, and comfortable seats. There are also some points that the body rolling on rough roads and small potholes in city roads, pickup is less than Palio and delivery takes 3-4 weeks.

  good buy

  Hey there, I am writing from Chandigarh, where we just got this beauty after waiting for a bit and also arguing within the family which car we should really go for. After a few rounds at various showrooms we settled for the Hyundai Getz prime. The looks are that of a hatchback, but once you are inside the car, it really feels like a Sedan. About the Getz, I was not sure how the engine would perform, but once I put my foot on the accelerator, the engine revved up nicely and gave me the impression of a sure performer. The storage space in the boot is really excellent, and the rear seat can adequately seat three people. We've got the GLX petrol. It's really great with all the top level features. What I liked best about the car was its extremely smooth suspension. The car did not take up much effort in turning and also has a very small turning radius. The engine is also very responsive, and a combination of proper gear use (very smooth on this variant) and the accelerator can give a good performance on the highway and even in city driving conditions. All in all, the Hyundai Getz Prime is a good buy and great value for money!
