The Hyundai Getz Prime is an idyllic combination of looks and power. At the heart of this car lies the wonderful 12 V, 4-cylinder SOCH engine. This 1.3 litre technological marvel delivers remarkable power of 82.9 PS at 5500 rpm. Actually, it practical terms, it is the comfort of the Getz and the engine of the Santro that make up the Getz prime.
The Hyundai Getz Prime offers a five speed manual transmission that requires lesser shifting effort consequently presenting smaller amount of gear sticking. The Getz is also equipped with exceptional braking technology and optional Anti Lock Brake System (ABS) technology that is able to cope up with sudden braking situations while preventing locking of skidding of the vehicle. The vehicle is available in the following variants namely Hyundai Getz Prime 1.1 GLE, Hyundai Getz Prime 1.1 GVS, Hyundai Getz Prime 1.3 GLS, Hyundai Getz Prime 1.3 GLX and Hyundai Getz Prime 1.5 GVS CRDi.
The 1.3 GLS is built around a larger 1341 cc 1.3 L five speed manual transmission SOHC petrol engine. This marvellous five door sedan has a seating capacity of five people. Furthermore, it offers a fuel economy of around 15.3 kmpl on the highway, while around 10.7 kmpl in city driving conditions. It thereby offers an overall mileage of 11.6 kmpl on the highway. These figures are indicative of slightly less fuel economy than the 1.1 GLE due to the larger engine size. Many features standard to this variant are in commonality with the 1.1 GVS. However, the 1.3 GLS variant offers additional features like rear wash wiper and front fog lights.
With the success of Getz Prime, I was bit confused to go for Getz or Santro. I went for Getz prime and I feel what a nice a decision it has been! I bought is 3 months back and there are few things I really like about this car. Step into the car and you will be attracted to the interiors - quality of plastics, ergonomically placed controls, the tachometer, steering etc. Even the external looks is as beautiful as interiors - well arranged rear lamp, extended bumper, love the 'thud' sound when one closes the door. Compared to the ample real estate available inside, Getz scores the highest in its segment. Easy handling and superior suspensions give silky smooth driving. I can put it as AC is average in comparison to other small cars and pick-up drowns. Gear box is perfect and best compared to other hatchbacks. Lovely mileage of 14 - 15 in city and 18-18.5 on highways. Other additional features are ample slots for mobiles, pens, goggles, wallets, bags and holding water bottle is very annoying but you can easily thump it into the holder and it doesn't even obstruct the rear seaters. Tilting steering is very useful on highways. The rear seat also can be reclined to three different positions.
