Maruti A-Star Vxi is a slightly advanced version of Maruti A-Star Lxi. This is likely to be a good buy for all those who are contemplating buying a Hyundai i 10, as it intends to give competition to the same. Like the Lxi and Zxi variants, it comes with k Series engine which is fuel efficient.

The common features in all the three variants include petrol engine, maximum power of 67 Bhp @ 6200 rpm and maximum torque of 90 Nm @ 3500 rpm. Equipped with power steering, Maruti A-Star Vxi has ventilated type of front brakes while the rear brake is disk type. This is a unique feature as compared to the other two variants of the Maruti A star, the front brakes are disk type while the rear is Drum.

Tachometer which is seen in the Zxi is absent in the A Star Vxi model. The comfort and convenience features include power windows, and manual central locking. The boot and fuel filler are controlled by remote. Music options include a CD player with 2 speakers. Folding rear seats are present while buttons or controls on steering are lacking. Rear seat belts are present but air bags and fog lamp seen in the Zxi is absent.

Maruti A-Star Vxi is overall a driver friendly car which is bound to entice customers with its stylish appearance and competitive engine. The European version of Maruti Suzuki A-Star will be named Alto Supermini. It will replace the present Maruti Alto models in foreign countries. In India however, Maruti will sell both these models simultaneously, similar to what they did with Wagon-R and Zen-Estilo. Its success story on Indian roads is yet to be seen.
