The Maruti Zen is now called the Maruti Zen Estillo, which is Spanish for style. The new Zen Estillo has a perfect aerodynamic shape and a unique bean shaped body. This latest version excels on all parameters like safety, style, interiors, comfort, luxury, technology, and style. Maruti's unique F10D 1061 cc engine on the Zen provides a maximum power of 65 BHP at 6,200 rpm while providing a maximum torque of 84 kg-m at 3500 rpm. The 2WD drive is linked to a five speed manual transmission with two overdrive gears.

Maruti Suzuki has taken great care to include a host of safety features in this model. The ABS protects the wheels from locking while braking. This ensures a smooth stop even on wet surfaces. SRS airbags prevent serious injuries to the chest in case of frontal impact. The high mounted stop lamp (HSML) provides a clear stopping indication even from a distance to following vehicles. Moreover, the Total Effective Strength Structure (TESS) structure provides enhances energy absorption to prevent injury to the driver or the occupant during any impact or head-on collision.

The Zen Estillo is high on the comfort edge too - Its four HVAC air conditioning provides faster cooling and superior comfort even during the most gruelling Indian summers. Furthermore, the beige colour interiors provide a royal look and feel that makes it look aesthetically superior to the eyes. The Maruti Zen Estillo LX is the base variant in the Zen Estillo series. It features Maruti's powerful 1061 cc naturally aspirated engine with MPFI fuel system. It offers good performance, acceleration and handling. The Maruti Zen Estillo LX has a fuel tank capacity of 35 litres. It provides a good fuel economy of between approximately 13 kmpl and 18 kmpl depending upon driving conditions.

The Maruti Zen Estillo LX comes with standard comfort, safety, interior and exterior features. Also included as standard is air-conditioning. Other features include three-spoke steering wheel, wheel caps, body coloured antenna, front seat adjustable seat head restraint, rear seat adjustable restraint, and others.

The Maruti Zen Estillo LX also comes with standard safety features like central locking and child safety lock. However advanced safety features like Antilock Braking System, airbags, keyless entry, and anti-theft system are not provided.
