The Nissan Teana is a premium four-wheel drive midsize luxury sedan that offers significant competition to cars like the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Skoda Superb and Mercedes C class. Sold as the Cefire in Singapore and Hong Kong, it has been recently launched in the Indian markets. It is positioned in the higher range car market in India, which has seen growth recently, along with increase in competition.
It is powered with the 2.31 V6 naturally aspirated petrol engine. It delivers an awesome power of 127 KW and is the quietest engine in its class. It easily achieves 0-100 kmph in just 10.4 seconds.
The design is a mix of both European and Japanese. The hood and grill feature great aesthetics along with roof arches, chrome moulding, along with other features. The interiors are a class apart with a third colour inserted in the basic two-tone scheme.
The transmission is a four speed electronically controlled automatic, with a 5.3-meter minimum turning radius. The Multipoint fuel system in the engine allows optimum fuel consumption thereby giving good fuel economy.
Additionally, there is a rear-view reversing camera making it easier to park the vehicle. Disc brakes have been provided on all four wheels. The drivers' seat is 8-way adjustable position memory along with a welcome seat system that provides automatic sliding of up to 40 mm. Powerful xenon lamps offer better visibility and safety while driving in the night. However, it has lower ground clearance that makes it slightly difficult to drive on uneven roads.
The cabin is extremely spacious. The suspension is independent struts of ball-joint type suspension in the front and multi-link type suspension in the rear, with stabilizer bars, which results in quality ride for passengers. The 16" tyres and aluminium alloy wheels are standard fitment. There is also ample 476 litres of boot space for luggage and other amenities.
There is ample space in all directions for all passengers. The centre console is elegant and the wood grain finish provides superior and comforting looks. Moreover, there is a 7 inch colour display, power sun roof, dual climate air conditioning, six disc CD changer with audio system, remotely controlled sunshade, and other features which improve the comfort level of the passengers and provide luxury and ambience to the car itself.
Safety features include airbags, active headrests, ABS with EBD, dual front pretensioner seatbelts, rear three point seat belts, and a VDC program that automatically controls engine output and braking power on each wheel. Other safety features include smart start and entry and theft proof immobilizers and auto levelling headlamps.
