I had brought a Bjaj Platina in Jan 2007. My previous bike was a Boxer CT which served me well, so I went ahead to purchase this bike. Till this date I had driven 50,000+ kms. Some good things about this bike 1.certaily looks good 2.mileage It is still giving me 65+ for my driving (avg. speeds between 60 to 80 km/hr) 3. Reasonabily cheap to maintain. So far Rs.10,000/- was spent by me for the 50,000km. This includes a)Oil change @ every 2500kms. b)Rear tyres replaced @ 18000kms c)Clutch cable @ 20,000kms d)Entire clutch assembly, chain sproket set was replaced at 40,000km e)Front fork was overhauled at 20,000km f)Rear brake shoes @ 15,000 30,000 and 45,000 kms g)Front brake shoes @ 30,000kms 4. Pricing was also reasonable Some bad things about this bike a)Seating position was not ideal for my height, I am 5 feet and 10 inches b)Engine is rough, vibes can be felt in handle bars and seats c)Pick up is not good particularly with a pillion rider b)Brakes are poor But that was due to the poor MTL tyres that came with the bike After replacing the rear tyres(MRF) it became good I hope that this review will be helpful to those who read I will use this bike till 75,000km and will probably replace it yam gladiator or suzuki gs150r
